In order: Nicholas, Charles, Piggly Oink, Hazard.

Hazard's clip was supposed to be twice as long but I only meant to spend one day on each character and I already spent two on her so I just showed animation of her disembodied head followed by her non-disembodied head.

I think the animation of Piggly Oink was the most successful; Hazard was the least. These characters are the most and least simplistically designed respectively and I'm sure the correlation is no coincidence.

No wonder you take so long to make these things. They're amazingly great, dude! It actually feels wrong of me to critique this because it's so much better and more professional than anything I could do, but since you asked for a critique: I think when Charles swallows the fish, his body needs more movement. Like, he seems a bit static in that shot. Maybe if something like a "swallow ripple" -- if that's a real thing -- goes through his body, it might look more natural. Other than that, this is some of the best animation I've seen from a non-studio.

Your animation never ceases to impress me. Things feel very nice, very cartoony now. A lot different from your earlier works.

This is shaping up to be your magnum opus...so far.

I always wonder how you could possibly be taking so long with this damned show. Then I see the quality of the animation and I understand.

These are fantastic; the way in which you convey weight in your work is brilliant.

Holy cow, these look really good! The Piggly Oink and Nicholas animations made my eyes expand to the size of a Tex Avery wolf's (eyes). How'd you get so good?! (Seriously, what would you recommend someone trying to learn how to animate? Any particularly helpful guides/tutorials or just practice? In any case, you're a seriously capable animator!)

The standard recommendations are Preston Blair's Animation book and Richard Williams' The Animator's Survival Kit. I recommend them too. Blair first, 'cause Williams' book doesn't teach you how to draw animated characters, just move them around once you know how to draw them.

Thanks for the compliment, and I'm sorry about your eyes.

Thank you! I'll read them as soon as I can!

And you're welcome! And it hasn't been a big problem, except that girls think I'm ogling them and I have to explain that I just saw some mind-boggling rough animation. As I'm explaining, though, they're too distracted "waiting for the shoe to drop" (that is, for me to complete the "wild take" with whistles, steam effects, and table-pounding), so I just have to roll with it. At least it's not as bad as when I first saw "FLCL;" that left me doing the whole wild take nonstop for weeks (even in my sleep).

I think the drug to fix that's available without a prescription now

Thanks for the info! Up until now, I've been using Sudafed, which has been less than effective.
